DALE and the Nelson Heritage
DALE
Motor Yachts has grown from a small family chandlery and boat repair and building
business established in 1961 in the Pembrokeshire Village of Dale.
The business opened in larger premises at Neyland Marina in 1983 and on seeing the exacting standards of our work, Jack Jones comissioned us to fit out a Halmatic hull in 1987. 'April Rose' was launched in 1988 and was tested by Motor Boats Monthly.
This lead to our first fit out of the legendary TT Boat Designed
Nelson hull - one of the true greats of the boatingworld and one with a
reputation of sea keeping
abilities second to none.
However to maintain DALE's reputation for the finest hand built quality,
we wanted to take responsibility for the entire build, we cemented
a relationship with TT Boat Designs and built our first Nelson 28 from the keel
up. The First Nelson was launched to enthusiastic press acclaim:
"the business" : "unrivalled craftsmanship" : "peerless pedigree" : "superbly made" : "bullet proof" : "unsurpassed attention to detail"
In the 21st Century, continuous advances in marine electronics and engineering allow us to continually move forward with an ideal balance of tradition and technology - a philosophy that was gloriously captured with the introduction of the Classic 45 in 2004 - a stunning design from the drawing boards of TT Boat Designs with a hull that revels in the capabilities that could only come from that Nelson heritage.
And now with the NEW DALE C65, the story moves into an exciting third chapter ...
