Following her appearance at the British Motor Yacht Show in Swanwick, Classic 37 Kilmory was loaded directly onto transport to begin her four-day journey to Port La Rague, near Cannes.
Mike and lead engineer Stevie flew to Nice to oversee her arrival and meet her new owner. Once customs formalities were completed and she was safely lifted into the water, Kilmory departed on passage for Portoferraio, Elba, passing the island of Corsica en route — the perfect opportunity for her owner to begin getting acquainted with her.
After an effortless and relaxed 160-mile passage, Kilmory was swiftly settled onto her new berth in one of the local marinas. Further trips followed, familiarising her owners with systems, anchoring, tender handling, close-quarters manoeuvring and berthing.
With Elba’s stunning coastline and historic main harbour as a backdrop — not to mention the wonderful Italian food and wine — it has been a truly memorable experience. Her owners are now continuing their exploration of this magical island and are already planning to extend their cruising adventures to Corsica and Sardinia
