Sprayer

Sprayer

With a reputation for levels of craftsmanship, quality of workmanship and finish which are the best in the business, we are looking to recruit a skilled sprayer to our boatbuilding team. Your background may not be working in the marine industry, but experience in this field is not always necessary and relevant experience may be in the automotive or aerospace industries. If you have the enthusiasm, drive and desire coupled with strong practical skills, pride in your work, strong sense of responsibility and a willingness and desire to develop a career with us, we would love to hear from you.

The key skills required for this role are:

  • The successful candidate will possess previous and proven experience as a sprayer and be confident in all aspects of preparation and spraying.
  • Good knowledge of surface preparation of differing materials.
  • Spraying experience of vessel hulls and/or bespoke hand-crafted furniture to the highest level with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to implement safe working practices and maintain high standards and routines in spray shop environment.

Essential that you:

  • Take pride in and take responsibility for the work that you do.
  • Be happy working under supervision and competent working alone when required.
  • Be confident using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Possess attention to detail, be accurate and well-organised.
  • Able to follow safe practice procedures and implement routines dependably.

Training will be given to enable the candidate to adapt their skills to the highest end marine paints and varnishes.

General Boatbuilder

General Boatbuilder

With a reputation for levels of craftsmanship and quality of workmanship and finish which are the best in the business, we are looking to recruit general multi skilled personnel to our boatbuilding team. Your background may not be working in the marine industry, but experience is not always necessary and relevant experience may be in shopfitting, joinery, building, aircraft fitting or something similar. If you have the enthusiasm, drive and desire coupled with strong practical skills, pride in your work and a willingness and desire to develop a career with us, we would love to hear from you.

The key skills required for this role are:

  • Scribing and fitting joinery parts.
  • Fitting GRP parts, external stainless-steel hardware and installation of windows, doors and furnishings.
  • Fitting of stern gear, engine shafts, engines, running systems.
  • All other aspects of boat assembly.

Tasks will initially be tailored to applicant’s particular skill set and ability, with the opportunity to develop and learn new skills for the right person.

Essential that you:

  • Take pride in and take responsibility for the work that you do.
  • Be happy working under supervision and competent working alone when required.
  • Be confident using fixed machinery.
  • Possess good attention to detail, be accurate and well organised.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good level of practical hand skills.
  • Possess a basic working knowledge of Health and Safety.

Bench Joiner

Bench Joiner

With a reputation for levels of craftsmanship and quality of joinery which are the best in the business, we are looking to recruit a Bench Joiner with all round wood working skills, a drive to work hard and a passion to be the very best.

The key skills required for this role are:

  • Time served Joiner with industry experience and a background including apprenticeship, NVQ / City& Guilds qualifications in bench joinery or equivalent.
  • Experience with modern woodworking machinery and hand tools.
  • Competent in reading drawings, templates and following written instructions.
  • Competence to work within tight tolerances with high value lacquered veneers and solid wood products.
  • Be able to produce a bespoke range of joinery, from cabinet door and frame sets, fielded panels and architectural mouldings, curved handrails and fitted joinery with ability to deliver work to our high standards of craftsmanship and finish.
  • An ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ensure the quality of work is completed to the highest standards, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Have a good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety.

Marine Laminator

Marine Laminator

With a reputation for levels of craftsmanship and quality of workmanship and finish which are the best in the business, we are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced marine laminator to our boatbuilding team. If you have the enthusiasm, drive and desire coupled with strong practical skills, pride in your work and a willingness and desire to develop a career with us, we would love to hear from you.

The key skills required for this role are:

  • Mould making and mould tool preparation.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings/specifications and be able to follow plans and work schedules.
  • Hand lay-up with polyester and vinylester resins.
  • Preparing and executing gel coating.
  • Laying down e-glass, gluing core and fitting structural elements.
  • Safely utilising knowledge of composite materials, including e-glass, catalyst and resin mixing.

Essential that you:

  • Take pride in and take responsibility for the work that you do.
  • Possess an ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ensure the quality of work is completed to the highest standards with a keen eye for detail.
  • Organise and maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Have a good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety.
  • Be happy working under supervision and competent working alone when required.

Depending on experience, the ideal candidate will work closely with our design team and be able to take on the responsibility for leading a small laminating team.
