DALE Classic 45 Straight from the Southampton Boat Show to Guernsey for further familiarisation. A great trip with F4-5 head seas giving the new owner the best possible experience of the true capabilities of his new boat and the confidence to travel further afield in somewhat “bumpy” conditions.
Wonderful restaurant meal at St Peter Port followed by some bubbles and red wine took us late into the evening, enjoying those very special first moments looking out of the wheelhouse through the drop-down aft bulkhead with the wonderful view of the castle and the feel of open airiness at midnight.
Followed on with return trip to mainland calling in to Salcombe and entrance to Dartmouth on the way for the owner to get his “bearings” for when he cruises this superb coastline and harbours to final destination of Torquay. Another day of F 4-5’s on the bow but all taken in its stride and sense of calm and confidence.
The third day consolidating the knowledge and operations of all the systems to finally hand over with the owner so excited that he has the full confidence to take the family out and explore with only himself at the helm. Wonderful to see and it’s what it’s all about!
